Carnival or procession, it is local wisdom
for a particular purpose. One’s of form is “upacara
bersih desa” (clean of village ceremony). Upacara Bersih Desa in Java has
diversity forms and performance appraisal. It depends on traditional leaders
and supporters. In East Java upacara
bersih desa in villages the area have unique and interesting. In Pacitan
village has name is “ceprotan”.
Ceprotan is form of clean of village ceremony is specialy at Sekar district in
Donorojo village. The ceremony ceprotan always to do every years, the aims is
to reject the plagues. Behind of ceprotan
ceremony is “Panji” story.

ceremony activity is upacara bersih desa,
17.00 pm Ceprotan ceremony is begins,
start of carnival from Imam Tukijo house he is Kepala Desa (village chief’s) to archway of coconut leaves (janur). Mr Imam Tukijo as role Raden Panji
Wanengpati, and his wife as role Dewi Sekartaji. Panji
stories begining from Kadiri kingdom at East Java, its content is about heroism
and love.
Why
Ceprotan ceremony carried on towards evening? Ceprotan ceremony has a function
refuse reinforcements. Because usually danger came in the early evening.
Therefore ceprotan implemented at the start of the evening. After the ceremony
of Ceprotan preparations was ready, carnival start from the village chief’s
house to the location that had been prepared, founded beginning Sekar village .
Carnival is preceded by carrying the mountains is ”buceng lodo”, which bear by

Procession
carrying the dependents it interesting and unique, which is followed by the
carrier offerings and young coconut (kelapa
muda) that has been peeled. After arriving at location, they scramble “lodo” (chicken cooked), and that’s when
throwing the coconut to the person who took away lodo. The picture images while throwing coconut, is as follows.
One
of young coconuts can be captured by carrier lodo’run, and submitted to Sekartaji. Next Sekartaji coconut solve
it, after there to broken and water in it spilled to the ground. That is a series of stories about the
